Summary:

The Research Associate I executes experiments under the direction of others or that are routine in nature with minimal variation in design and execution. They compile data in electronic laboratory notebooks and create informative tables and graphs. They occasionally present at group or department meetings.

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Performs experiments that are routine in nature and troubleshoots studies with supervision
  • Interprets data and recognizes errors or unusual results when they occur
  • Records accurate, clear, and complete experimental data and methods
  • Assists senior personnel in developing solutions to problems
  • Summarizes experimental results and presents to lab group
  • Contributes to lab upkeep and equipment maintenance
  • Contributes to technical reports and may author with guidance
  • Executes formulation or DP development studies with guidance
  • Performs analytical testing of samples under supervision

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline
  • B.S. and 0-2 years experience
  • Academic training should include some coursework in protein chemistry
  • Prior lab exposure (may be through college coursework)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Protein formulation or analytical experience in the academic or biotechnology/pharmaceutical industry settings

The hiring pay range for this position is $65,500 to $79,800 per year based on skills, education and experience relevant to the role. Other components of total compensation include a competitive equity grant at the time of hire and an annual bonus.
